A Great Day in Madison

Blogger Janelle Renee flew in from California, and I flew in from Wherever It Is That I Live, to join a core of Madison bloggers for a little blog fest.

It put me in mind of that day back in the summer of 1958, when 57 jazz greats posed for a group photo up at 126th Street, between Fifth and Madison Avenues in Harlem.

You can get a "map" of the musicians in the photo here. The photo by Art Kane is called "A Great Day in Harlem," and there's a documentary about it by the same name.

Naturally, on this Great Day in Madison, the bloggers posed for a group picture too:

Well, first I have to ask for permission.

Comments:
Where are your laptops? Shouldn't all of you be blogging?

ykrxefg - ye krux effigy... whatever that means

It's a great moment in Chicago O'Hare. The laptop is working, the wireless network is working, and I'm getting a look (not to be confused with "the look") from other waiting travellers for my spontaneous and laughter.

I had a wonderful time meeting and spending time with all of you. I already miss everybody!

froyfnsj- (1) gibberish for "Janelle Renee had a fantastic time in Madison." (2) gibberish for "Madison bloggers rock."

I meant to tell you, that I'm happy you chose my face to be face #4. It is my favorite number of all time.

I wanna be in the special club! Sounds like fun - plus, who could resist being in one of MT's stick figure drawings???

I am honored to be in one of MT's stick figure drawings. She made me look so adorable that I am thinking about using it as my avatar.
