Concourse

[Editor's note: Okay, this was just a "travel blog appeteaser" I wrote while sitting at the airport, where I felt too outraged to pay $8.95 for "all day" internet access that I'd be able to use for about 20 minutes until my flight boarded.

It is outrageous, isn't it, that we're all being bombarded with probably carcinogenic wireless signals whether we pay the $8.95 login fee or not? They should just provide it for free.

Airports are so humdrum when you’re traveling for work or obligatory family visits. But when you’re traveling on a vacation, particularly a vacation abroad, they become vivid as though you were on some hallucinogenic drug, don’t they? (Not that I would know.) I think the "drug" is anticipation.
